Today, the teaching staff rotated throughout the day for a three hour training with Shirley Poulton on strategies to teach the traits of effective writing. While the teachers were learning some great strategies to teach the children about writing skills, the students took part in one hour training sessions on the student handbook and on how to be a Proactive Student Leader at school and home. Grades 3-5 spent time in the cafeteria reviewing the handbook and we also discussed what it takes to be a Proactive Student Leader. Grades K-2 practiced being a Proactive Student Leader by being safe, responsible, respectful and cooperative on the playground, in the cafeteria and on the bus. Below are some photos of the teachers taking part of the Writing Training and students taking part in the Proactive Training. Students worked hard practicing on becoming a Proactive Student Leader on the playground by waiting their turn, helping others out, and using the equipment properly. Great Job Everyone!
