Grade 7 & 8 Info:
7th grade: Newton's 3rd Law of Motion: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction". 7th graders reviewed Newton's 3 -Laws of motion and read and article on how Newton's 3rd Law relates to Lebron Jame's dunking a basketball. Students are learning the concept of applying force to move a mass and the more massive something, the more force is applied. Lebron James and other basketball players apply force to the basket ball court through their muscles to jump. The article also discussed body fat and muscle. THE BOARD QUESTIONS: What is the difference between weight and mass? What is the average percent body fat for an adult? 8th grade: Zebra Mussels and Adaptation: 8th graders learned about adaptation and how it can apply to their every day living and where they go. They then read and discussed an article about Zebra Mussels as an invasive species. They learned how the invasions was noticed in the Hudson River and how that connects all the way to lake Michigan.
