I stopped in the 5th grade classrooms throughout the day to discover they were working on their 7 Habits of the Leader in Me activity guide. The 5th grader's are responsible for our October 7 (Friday) school-wide assembly. Next month's topic will be on how to be a Proactive Student Leader. In math class, the 5th graders were working on adding and subtracting mixed numbers and while in technology class, they were working on writing a story on their blog page and learning how to comment back and forth on each other's stories.
Take time to ask your children every evening during family dinner what their "three bests" were at school. This is a technique I use at home with my children. It requires children to give more thought in their answers and increases dialogue between families. By using this technique, I never hear the typical responses of: "it was good", "nothing" or "I don't know". Comments are closed.
